The Ram 2500: Let's Take a Look at its Powertrain Choices

The Ram 2500 is a popular heavy-duty pickup truck that comes equipped with a number of features that boost power, efficiency, and performance. Our team at C.H. A 5.7L HEMI V8 engine that features Variable Valve Timing (VVT) is offered with the Ram 3500. This engine can reach up to 383 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. The 6.4L HEMI V8 engine can produce 410 horsepower, which is best-in-class, and 429 lb.-ft. of torque. The next engine in the lineup is a 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel engine that is capable of 370 horsepower and 800 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine can tow up to 17,980 pounds.

A six-speed manual transmission is exclusive to the 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel I6 engine. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard with the 5.7L and 6.4L engines and available with the 6.7L Cummins engine.
